At DNA Kids we aim to make booking your kids or teenage birthday party an enjoyable, easy and stress-free experience. We love being helpful and are only too happy to answer your questions and alleviate any fears you may have. We have tried to answer the most common questions we are asked below but if you have a question we have missed out, please do not hesitate to call us on 01245 401 401.

1. Who are DNA Kids and what do you do?

We are a children’s and teenage party entertainment company. We provide brilliant children's entertainers, cool kids & teenage DJs, amazing magicians and energetic sports coaches to kids birthday parties, seasonal parties, teenage parties, leaving parties, school discos, christenings, corporate events, holy communions and more… phew! 3. How much are your parties?

Our kids party prices are based on several factors such as party type, party date, party time and the nearest available DNA Kids entertainer, magician, sports coach or DJ on your chosen party date. Please note: as we operate a live diary system our availability is changing all the time.

 

To obtain a quote please call us on 01245 401 401. Our lines are open Monday to Friday from 9am – 6pm and Saturday from 10am – 4pm. Our offices are closed on a Sunday.

4. Do I have to book a party venue?

Yes. We are a mobile-based children’s and teenage party entertainment service so we travel to a venue of your choice, such as a local village hall, community centre, church hall, sports centre, hotel or golf club etc. Depending on the party type and venue floor level, our kids entertainer or DJ will arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the party start time to set-up the disco or sports equipment and take up to 30 minutes to set down after the party. Longer time is needed for upstairs or downstairs venues (45 minutes) and teenage parties (45 - 60 minutes).

5. How long does the party last?

A typical DNA Kids party runs for 2 hours, which we believe is the perfect party length! You can have a longer party if you wish although we only recommend it for older kids parties and for no more than 2.5 hours due to the children’s short attention span. Teenage parties are typically 2 - 3 hours long.

 

Please note: we take 30 minutes to set-up and 30 minutes to set down either side of our kids parties, so for a 2 hour children's party you would need to book your venue for 3 hours in total. For example, if you booked a 3pm – 5pm party our kids entertainer would arrive at 2.30pm and leave at approx. 5.30pm. For teenage parties please allow 45 - 60 minutes to set-up and approx. 30 - 45 minutes to set down.

6. Do you stop for a food break in the party?

Yes. We normally stop for a food break halfway through our children's parties (excluding teenage parties) after the first hour. The food break can be as long or as short as you wish with it typically taking between 20 – 30 minutes. Your kids entertainer will play background music during this time (excluding sports parties). Your entertainer/sports coach will liaise with you during the food break about bringing out the birthday cake (not supplied). They will also get all the children to sing a big ‘Happy Birthday’ and give 3 cheers!

 

Please note: whilst we do not recommend it due to it being hard on the children’s attention and energy, you can feed the children after the party if you prefer. If you intend to do this please notify us at time of booking so we can inform your kids entertainer.

7. What is the format of your kids parties?

Our kids party format depends on the type of party chosen. Please see an overview on our 4 different kids party formats below (excludes teenage parties):

 

Disco & Games Party / Themed Parties Format

a. Party Intro: involves the children's entertainer and birthday child welcoming all their friends on the mic (optional for shy children but lots of fun!)

b. Party game: with prizes & consolation sweets

c. Disco dancing section: approx. 1 songs length with occasional on-the-spot best dancer and prizes

d. Instant win: fun child-friendly or themed questions with prizes

e. Repeat points b - d: continuously for the first hour of the party

f. Birthday Child Chant: our hilarious march to the food table!

g. Food break: this can be as long or short as you like

h. Birthday cake and Happy Birthday sing-a-long: our kids entertainer gets the children singing-a-long, all you need to do is bring in the birthday cake!

i. Repeat points b - d: until 5 minutes before the party finish time

j. DNA Birthday Kid Grand Presentation: our super-cool birthday child medal presentation and a great photo opportunity for parents!

k. Big ending: last disco dancing song (chosen by the birthday child), fun activity sheets handed out to the children (supplied by our entertainer) and final goodbyes!

 

Magic, Disco & Games Party Format

a. As Disco & Games Party Format above: from points a – h

b. Magic show: for remaining second half of the party, typically 30 to 40 minutes in length

c. Wizard’s Graduation Parade: our little apprentice wizard’s collect their special wizard’s certificates!

d. Big ending: last disco dancing song (chosen by the birthday child) and final goodbyes!

 

All Star Sports Party / Track & Field Sports Party Format

a. Party welcome: fun introductions, organising teams and handing out coloured bibs

b. It’s sports time: red, green, blue and yellow teams compete in lots of energetic sports (for first hour of the party)

c. Birthday Child Chant: our hilarious march to the food table!

d. Food break: this can be as long or short as you like

e. Birthday cake and Happy Birthday sing-a-long: our sports coach gets the children singing-a-long, all you need to do is bring in the birthday cake!

f. Repeat point b: until 5 minutes before the party finish time

g. Winners and runners-up certificate presentation: for all the children as well as prizes!

h. Sports Superstar Medal Ceremony: the birthday child receives our awesome All Star Sports party medal!

i. Final goodbyes!

 

Soccer Superstar Football Party Format

a. Party welcome: introductions and getting ready for lots of football fun!

b. Lots of energetic football based games and matches including:

c. Birthday Child Chant: our hilarious march to the food table!

d. Food break: this can be as long or short as you like

e. Birthday cake and Happy Birthday sing-a-long: our sports coach gets the children singing-a-long, all you need to do is bring in the birthday cake!

f. Soccer superstar FA cup football tournament: 7 awesome football matches until 5 minutes before the party finish time

g. FA cup winners and runners-up certificate presentation: for all the children as well as prizes!

h. Player of the Match Medal Ceremony: the birthday child receives our awesome Soccer Superstar football party medal!

i. Final goodbyes!

8. What do I need to do / supply?

As children’s entertainers we take care of all the party entertainment, so you do not need to do anything towards this. We require you to supply the party venue with at least two plug points (excl. sports parties) for the entertainer’s disco equipment. For suitable party venues please see question 4.

9. How many children am I allowed to have at my kids party?

For disco & party games, themed and magic parties our maximum attendance is 40 children. For all our kids sports parties the maximum attendance is 28 children. We have maximum attendances for our kids parties for safety, insurance and enjoyment reasons. We do not count babes in arms or toddlers that are unlikely to join in party games in the attendance numbers. You are also welcome to have as many parents as you wish to stay and watch the party.

 

Please note: there are no maximum attendance restrictions for teenage parties, school discos or any other parties without party games or sports.

10. Can my child choose his or her favourite party songs?

Yes. We carry all the latest chart, pop and action songs for children and teenagers and are only too willing to play the birthday child’s personal music favourites! We will ask you for the birthday child’s favourite songs at time of booking or you are welcome to email us a music list at a later date.

11. Do the children have to wear fancy dress for your kids themed parties?

No. We appreciate not every child may have a fancy dress outfit so we make dressing-up optional. However, wearing a fancy dress outfit for our Princess, Hero & Pirates Party and Spook-tacular Monster Party really adds to the fun!

 

Please note: our kids entertainers dress in colourful DNA Kids branded clothing and wear themed accessories (where applicable). For practical and performance reasons, unfortunately they are unable to wear fancy dress costumes for our kids themed parties (excl. Spook-tacular Monster Party). For teenage parties, our DJs wear appropriate smart casual clothing.

12. How do I book and pay for a party?

Booking your kids or teenage party is easy. Simply call us on 01245 401 401 between the hours of 9am – 6pm Monday to Friday or 10am – 4pm Saturday (we are closed Sundays).

 

Our friendly party advisor will ask you for all your party details then request a credit or debit card deposit. We will then email you your booking confirmation along with our free party invitation (themed to the party - excludes teenage parties). The balance of payment is then payable by cash on the day to your entertainer or DJ after the party has finished.

13. Can I add or change my party details after booking?

Yes. If you need to make changes to your party details you can call or email us whenever you need and as many times as you need – it’s free and all part of our service! On your booking confirmation you will also be given a unique password to access ‘My DNA Kids’ where you can see all your party details online. You can also make minor changes to your booking through My DNA Kids.

14. Who will be my kids entertainer, magician, DJ or sports coach?

Our professional children’s entertainers and teenage party DJs are all trained to an extremely high standard, so no matter which DNA Kids entertainer, DJ, magician or sports coach you have, you can be sure of a brilliant, fun and well-run party!

 

By default we allocate the most suitable and local kids entertainer, magician, DJ or sports coach to you. This helps us keep our prices as low as possible. If you have seen one of our children's entertainers or DJs in action you are welcome to request that entertainer/DJ and if they are available on your chosen date we will allocate them to your party.

15. How do I know you will turn up to my child’s party?

DNA Kids is an established, professional children’s and teenage party entertainment company with tens of thousands of kids and teenage parties performed. Not attending a child’s party is simply not an option for us. Apart from believing it is morally wrong to let any of customers down, our exemplary reputation is extremely valuable to us and we would never do anything to jeopardize this.

 

Thanks to the internet, we live in a world where companies are easily exposed for poor or unreliable service and rightly so. Our customer testimonials are 100% genuine and mostly from recent kids and teenage parties. We are also privileged to have numerous customers leaving positive recommendations on our social media channels such as Facebook on a regular basis.

16. What happens if I need to cancel my party?

We appreciate situations can change and there may be a need to cancel your kids or teenage party. We offer a free booking transfer service in the event of the unforeseen happening, such as the birthday child falling ill etc. In these instances, simply call or email us and we will check a new date for you. Once a new date has been agreed upon we will move your deposit to your new party date completely free of charge!

For us, a fantastic children's party starts with great content. Lively kids entertainers are one thing but to really capture the children’s imagination and attention they need party entertainment that is exciting, captivating and fun! For a successful well-run kids party the entertainment needs to totally engross the children from start to finish.

 

Our team of imagineers rack their brains on a daily basis to create kids parties that are packed full of wow-factor, such as our imaginative party games. We are so proud of our unique party games that we genuinely believe you will not find party games like them anywhere else in the world! Even the names of our action-packed party games need to sound exciting because we want you to picture what a fantastic party your child will have long before we arrive!

 

Once we’ve created any new party games our props creators then set to work buying and building colourful, fun props that make our party games totally engrossing and highly-original.

 

Whilst we love and include traditional party games like musical bumps and musical statues in our parties for little ones, wait until you see highly original party games such as Duck Pond Dash, Look at me I’m on TV and Bubbles & DJ's Character Fun… we think you’ll love them!

 

Great games and brilliant children’s entertainers are the fundamentals of any successful children’s party but we think, why stop there?

 

This is why we add neat little touches such as ‘Instant Win’, which allows more children to win prizes through answering fun child-friendly questions relative to the children’s age group and party theme.

 

Other examples of how we think the little things make a big difference is our funny party introduction which sees the birthday child helping our entertainer to welcome their friends on the mic! And the birthday child chant where we march the children to the food table in a funny and entertaining way!

 

We keep the activities going right until the end of the party where we then perform the DNA Birthday Kid Grand Presentation where the birthday child receives a super-cool birthday child or themed medal!

 

We also love being generous, which is why we include loads of free give-a-ways in our kids parties such as prizes, consolation sweets, invites and fun activity sheets (depending on party type) for all the children to take home!

 

To give our parties even more wow-factor, we use a free bubble, snow or smoke machine and a colourful kids disco in our parties worth thousands of pounds for the same price other entertainers charge you for parties with tiny portable stereos!

 

Finally, we believe booking your children’s party entertainment should be an enjoyable and hassle-free experience. This is why we offer free replacement kids entertainer and coach cover (subject to availability) in the event of them falling ill or for any other unforeseen circumstance. Our children's entertainers are also DBS checked, they use PAT tested disco equipment (excl. sports parties), we are public liability insured and your booking is confirmed in writing to you. It’s all part of our stress-free party guarantee!
